TVYO introductory evening at Larkmead School

This is an opportunity for new and current members to meet ahead of rehearsals. Our conductor, Caroline Hobbs-Smith, will be giving a short introduction to the pieces in this term’s programme and also explain how an orchestra is set up, the running of a typical rehearsal and how to read the beat patterns of a conductor.

All students and parents are welcome.

TVYO's Spring concert at The Amey Theatre

The 2023-24 academic year ended with a fabulous concert at The Amey Theatre in Abingdon. The evening’s programme was as follows:

Suppe: Poet and Peasant Overture
Mussorgsky: Night on a Bald Mountain
Borodin: Symphony No.2 in B minor

The concert marked the end of a very successful year with our new Music Director Caroline Hobbs-Smith.  We look forward to welcoming our players back in September and to many more fantastic concerts in the future.
